Babies. Crazy Babies.

So the other day we celebrated Coleman's b-day at my mom's house. Turning 30 never looked so good. But that wasn't the point of this blog. As we were sitting around playing games, we noticed that Tessa had climbed into my parent entertainment center. As she was trying to close the door, the bottom started to move out. Low and behold, Stone had been in the back of the shelf the whole time. It was like 15 minutes that he sat in there waiting for her. So I got some good pictures of it. It's funnier to hear the story, so call me if you want to.
The babies being crazy.
My dad and Cameron. They were impersonating people. It was great.
Sophie came in wearing this headwrap as a scarf. It was adorable. It's from the Karate Kid, in case you can't tell.
Anywhoodle, on Sunday we had a big birthday par-tay with Alex's extended family, and his cousin made cupcakes. Tessa loved them.
Proof.

And... a shout out to Bryan. Hey Bryan. I know you're reading this.

Washington DC "Barrack"ed Our World

This week was Spring Break, so Alex and I got to go to Washington DC. It was a blast. Alex had never been, so he really just drank it up. He's pretty into America. But who isn't right? Oh yeah, the Taliban. Anyway, I just figure instead of telling you all of the magical things that happened, I'd picture blog your brains out. Here it goes!
The first night we went to the White House. Obama wasn't home, he was on Jay Leno. Did you guys see it? Totally talked about the special olympics. Offensive right? Not really, I love Obama. I'm a democrat.
We then headed to the Washington Monument. This is it. Pretty boring.
Alex was overcome with the spirit while walking to the Lincoln Memorial. And I'm not even kidding.
He took so many pictures of Lincoln. I think it's because he loves the part in Planet of the Apes when the spaceship lands and Charlton Heston/Mark Wahlberg walks up the steps and instead of Abe it's an ape. Classic.

We saw some othere memorials (there are a lot!) and then headed back to the hotel. But first we ate at Johnny Rockets.
Alex seriously made out with this milkshake.

Day Two. We went to the National Holocaust Museum, but no pictures of that. It would be inappropriate. And there were so many people there, I didn't want to get them in my pictures! So after that we went on over to the Jefferson Memorial. He's pretty sweet.
We totally made friends with this couple who took our picture. Well, I think the girl was into me. She was cool too I guess.

Then we went over to the George Mason Monument. Who is George Mason? Hell if we know, we actually took a wrong turn heading over to the FDR Memorial. George Mason apparently was Washington's mentor.
I thought he was dreamy.
This is at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. He's the hot one, you know, the one with polio?
These might be inappropriate. They were depictions of the Great Depression. Alex just likes standing in line.

On our walk, Alex got pretty artsy. He took a bunch of pictures of me being adorable. Which isn't hard to do, since I'm always adorable.
And my tights totally rocked.
Art. It's in his blood.
Isn't it funny? I don't even care.

Then we ate at a restaurant that was way to classy for us. Well, not for Alex. Look at him.
Class is oozing from his pores.
Day Three. Arlington. It was freezing.

Can you tell I love when Alex takes pictures? I do.That night Alex decided he wanted some doughnuts. A dozen of them. I don't even know. I think it was in honor of Sophie. That girl loves her some doughnuts.

Anyway, I'm getting bored. These pictures were on our last day, when we went to the Smithsonian museums and to the Capital. The art museum rocked my world. Alex liked the planes.
Alex's attempt to get the Natural History Museum. It's a good picture of me though. And half of the elephant.
Our nation's capitol. Beautiful.

Monet. Totally worth it.
Wha? Is this Van Gogh? Yes, it sure is.
I was just fixing the Capitol. Funny.
The birds totally flew on my command! Craziness.
We got really tired and decided to sit and get something to drink. Like a million dollars later, we got these 16 oz. drinks. Rip off.
Then I realized we hadn't taken any jumping pictures, even though I wrote like 7 of them into the itinerary. So I mustered up all of the strength that was left in my body and got this beauty.
So proud.

There are a lot more pictures, but I'm seriously so bored of uploading them!! And I probably should spend time with Tessa since we left her for a week!
GO DEMOCRACY!!!

Jet Setters

Last weekend my and my sisters, and my sistahs (that's the people that are like my sisters, but not blood related. So the Hymas girls) headed on down to Vegas and LA for some gift show shopping. (Ash couldn't go because she was out of town-or she was the weekend before. But she was missed!) Boy oh boy, did this trip take the cake. Mainly because Cessy decided she wanted to start punching people, and by people I mean Cailey. It. Was. Glorious. She would stand there with her fist out and make Cailey walk into it. So good. I'm pretty sure Cailey's jaw was disaligned a few times, but it's all for fun, so no harm done, right? Anyway, we got to go with my mom and get some stuff for Simpable Things (what what!). It was lots of fun!!
This is Cessy and Cailey after H & M (the best place ever). Cailey did something, so Cessy made her walk into her fist.
This is how her jaw felt.
I was indifferent. I was just glad she wasn't punching me.
My mom and sisters about to eat at the best place ever (not.) It was gross. The best part was that we had to stand to eat. I love it.
We all dressed the same. Not on purpose, we're just that in sync. And this guy totally gave us free sunglasses! Hey Oh!
That being said, totally check out Simpable Things next weekend!!!! It will rock your socks off. Leave your email in my comments if you want the invitation, because I can't figure out how to post it on here! My stupid brain!

I Just Can't Resist

I can't resist a survey. Thanks Leslie, you found my weakness.

What are your middle names? Diana and Devon. Try and guess who's name is who's.

How long have you been together? Since June 7, 2004. I remember everything. Especially Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. And Ruben Studdard.

How long did you know each other before you started dating? We started dating even before we knew each other. Or a week.

Who asked who out? Zach basically asked Alex out for me. Then Alex asked me to go to the canyons with his friends without Zach and Cessy-big step. Our first official date was months later, he took me to Hard Rock Cafe and a Stingers game. We'd already said I love you though, so we were mixing it up.

Whose siblings do you see the most? I see mine. But I see Doug a lot. He's technically Alex's on account of being married to his lil' sis. But really it depends. But my sisters we see a lot. And I think Alex pictures my older brother Cameron in his head on an hourly basis. Their besties.

Do you have any children together? Yesh. Her name is Tessa. You may have heard of her from my blog.

What about pets? Shoot me if we ever have another pet. Max was almost the death of me.

Did you go to the same school? No. Luckily. I think if I would have known him in high school we would not be together now. He was a dork. I wasn't.

Who is more sensitive? Me, probably. I know my rock hard facade may fool you, but I'm soft inside.

Where do you eat out most as a couple? Chili's. Or somewhere else equally boring. I like Subway though. Or our couch.

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? The Big Apple. The city so nice they named it twice. The other name is Manhatten.

Who has the craziest exes? Probably me. I don't know. I have less exes than him, but only my ex actually stalked Alex for a while. Not to be scary, he just really wanted Alex to be his friend. It didn't work out.

Who has the worst temper? ALEX. Help me.

Who does the cooking? Alex does. I can cook, I just don't want him to eat my food and then wonder why everyone else's isn't as good, so I only cook on special occassions. Like Tuesdays.

Who is the most sociable? Me. He's really social, but I'm funner. Or more fun. AH!! See how fun this is?

Who is the neat freak? Me. He loves filth. And ants.

Who is the most stubborn? I say him, he says me. Then we'll argue and argue and neither of us will let it go. Then we'll forget about it because we've thought of another issue that we both disagree on, and neither of us will give in. We're so perfect for each other, we're imperfect for each other.

Who hogs the bed? I do. And I love every minute of it.

Who wakes up earlier? On weekdays he does, but on weekends he does. So him.

Where was your first date? Our first alone date was never. He's in love with his friends, which is cool. We went to Hard Rock with Jake and another girl. Sorry Heather! I can't remember who it was, but I think I hated her, so no biggie right?

Who has the bigger family? Immediate family is me. I gots lots. But extended family is him. They multiply like rabbits.

Do you get flowers often? No, I don't think I've ever gotten flowers from Alex. It's not because he doesn't love me, I just don't like flowers. He gave me a boquet of Diet Coke once and I seriously fell in love with him all over again.

How long did it take to get serious? Our wedding day was when it got serious. Up until then we were just having fun.

Who eats more? Me. Definitely. I know you're thinking, Where does she put it all? Trust me, it's there.

Who sings better? Me. I'm going to be on American Idol next season. You think I'm joking, but I'm really not. Really.

Who does the laundry? I do. Alex only does it when I'm mad at him.

Who’s better with the computer? Alex is. He's an economist. Not like that matters, but he knows how to sum things up in Excel. So he wins!

Who drives when you are together? Alex does. I'm actually starting to think I've done this survey before. Hopefully it's better this time.

Who picks where you go to dinner? I'm horrible at making decisions. So it takes him a while to convince me to choose. So to answer this question, it's me.

Who is the first one to admit when they're wrong? He is because I'm never wrong.

Who wears the pants in the relationship? Alex. I bet you thought it was me, right? Well WRONG.

Who has more tattoos? Don't even bring up tattoos with Alex. He'll talk your ear off.

Who eats more sweets? Oh my me. Hands down.

Who cries more? He'll say me, but he totally cried just as hard at the end of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Both times we saw it in the theater.

Who is more athletic? Depends on what sport. But Alex.

Who has kissed more people? I have. Woop woop!!

How long before you had your first kiss? One week. But it feels like yesterday (sigh).

Who is better with finances? What are finances? I kid. He is. I'm not allowed to touch any of our money, because women be shopping!

Who gets jealous easier? I do. I love my man, what can I say. I'll cut you if you try to break us up.

Who has better taste in music? I do. Alex loves bands like Guster and Zebrahead. Have you heard of Guster? Exactly.

Favorite couple moment? All of them. But really, there are a lot to choose from. I particularly love the moment when we came home from our honeymoon and we went to Gateway to go shopping. Alex was being ridiculous and trying to hold on to the sides of the escalator while putting his feet up (much like 12 year olds do). So I uppercutted the crap out of his special area. There was a little Asian couple on the down escalator, and it was like they had seen Godzilla. It. Was. Awesome. I'm having a hard time typing this right now because I laugh everytime I think of this. So good.

Welp. You can do this if you want. But whatevs.

Tense.

Yesterday whilst at work, there was quite a tense moment. Or series of moments. We just moved into a new office (not just, like 2 months ago. Or a month. I don't know) and now our managers have their own offices. So yesterday as we're working away, my manager Matt (you know who you are) closed his door with him still inside his office. We heard him messing with the door handle for a minute, and then nothing happened, so we didn't really think anything of it. Then, other Matt (not the same Matt, stay with me here) came over with his keys and told us that Matt had locked himself in his office. Needless to say, we had a good laugh. Then, we realized he didn't lock himself in, he was stuck. Something happened with the door handle and they couldn't get the door open. It was still funny though. He was stuck in there for a good hour. And it was still funny after the hour was up. I took pictures.
This is after they had waited about an hour for the office manager to get there. People started to panic, you could see it in their eyes.
You can't see it very well, but that little shadow thing in the window was Matt, fighting his way out of his office.

When they couldn't get the door open, the boys started planning an aerial attack. I don't know how it was going to work. I think they were maybe going to pull Matt up through the ceiling. I know, it's hard not to laugh.

These were all the tools they slipped under the door for Matt to try to pry the door open. So great.
Finally, freedom. Sweet, sweet freedom.
So, all in all it was a pretty normal day at the office.

New Room

So, as many or not so many of you may or may not know, Alex is on a business trip. So I redecorated Tessa's room. Back story to this: My mom was telling us that when she and my dad were newly married he would go on business trips and every time he came home she had redecorated another room in the house. Little did Alex know, I totally take after my mom. So I finally finished the redecoration that is Tessa's bedroom. We got her a new bed for her birthday and I got a bunch of stuff for her room way back when I went to Atlanta with my mom and sisters, so I was like, "what better time to finish this sucka then right now!?" I got her new bed stuff and a new toy organizer thingamajig. I organized ALL of her THOUSANDS of toys. She was pretty excited. So behold, the wonder of the new room.
The mess of toys-this was mid-organization. It got ugly for a while.
Tessa's new bed. I put her name on the wall so she wouldn't be confused as to whose room she was sleeping in. I jest, I jest. She knows.
Wall decor. It's super glittery.
Tessa's toys, all organized up. She loves it.
She was super excited about her bed. Except for when it was time to sleep in it, then she was all about anti bedroom.

Also, the other night she was playing with my jar of pens and pencils, and I turned around to find this. She didn't even say anything, she was intently watching High School Musical 3:Senior Year. It's like she didn't know she was being funny!

Another also, my mom got her this cute little outfit while we were in St. George last time, and it's super scandalicious. You can't see the back because there isn't one. That's right. She loved it. Don't worry, I put a sweater on her!

Welp, that's it. That'll teach Alex to go out of town. Next time I'm tackling our bedroom.
