Sullivan's Birthday

So I figured I would finally post about Sullivan's birthday, since according to Alex "you've sucked at blogging". Sorry Alex, not all of us can work full time, go to school full time, and take care of YOUR kids so blogging wasn't my priority...jk, I love blogging.
This is the morning of his birthday. Luckily he had Tessa to open every single present.
I mean every one.

So for Sullivan's birthday party I decided to make it a monster theme, mainly because I found a super cute cake on Bakerella, and a bunch of monster stuff at Oriental Trading...and Sully loves monsters-he doesn't know it yet, but he does. Our whole family had been sick the entire week, so it was super lucky that everything turned out well...especially this adorable cake that I made...not to toot my own horn, but OMG isn't it cute?
It may or may not have started melting shortly after this picture was taken, so it spent most of the party in the fridge.
I have a bunch of pictures of the actual party, but now blogger is telling me my requests are bad...so picture everyone having fun. That's what it looks like in my pictures.
Sully with his first taste of his cupcake.
And the last taste...this is what he looks like after every meal. No joke.
So that was his party-too bad all the other pictures were badly requested!
Anyway, just in case you were all wondering if my baby is huge or not...he's not! We took him to the doctor and he is AVERAGE. Weird right? He is 50% for his height and 24% for his weight!! I would never have thought one of my babies would be below the 90th for anything, but he is. It's really weird, because he just looks so fat...

What my days look like...

Hey. So as most of you may or may not know, I work from home most days. Tessa is usually playing outside or with her little friend across the street, so my main concern while working is Sullivan. And seriously, that kid is concerning. When Tessa was little, she was not interested in the stairs. Or the spaces behind the couches. Or electrical outlets. But Sullivan cannot stop exploring those things. He seriously doesn't sit still, unless he's asleep. I've heard that boys are like that, but I seriously had no idea..
This is after he's crawled out from behind the couch. I thought I had a picture where you can only see his head under the couch cushions, but I guess not.
That is his trail of destruction...and him being adorable and watching Gnomeo and Juliet.
This is usually where he is at-trying to find a way to escape our family room. He hasn't found one yet, but he is learning to climb pretty well.
This is him after he's given up. That trail of books is from him too...
Ugh-he's so cute. And I'm sure everyone can notice the wave of destruction behind him...that wasn't me that did that.
When he starts walking, I'm going to have to quit my job...I know that when that happens he'll figure out how to open doors and hot wire cars...terrifying.

Up!

Hey all. So I'm sure people have heard about the Up house out in Herriman, but if you haven't....they built the Up house in Herriman. Filled in?! I thought you'd enjoy that...so on Saturday we were having our bathroom tiled/demolished, so we had to get out of our house to have Sullivan fall asleep (which he didn't, don't worry) so we took the kiddos out to see the Up house. It was adorable. Alex thought it was ugly, but that's because he has no positive outlook on life...no big deal. And when we were pulling out of the driveway, I said "did you grab the camera?" and Alex said "nope" and then kept on a-rollin. So these were taken with his phone...

Tessa and Gracie (our neighbor across the street-and her bestie...) they both had to bring dollies. And wear skirts...it was a pretty big deal.Pretty much the same picture as before, just farther away...It even has this mailbox-so cute. Apparently Alex didn't care that Tessa couldn't keep her eyes open. Bless his heart.

And I swear Sullivan was there too, he was just in my arms the whole time. ANYWHO...that's it!

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to the best baby boy on earth!! And no, I'm not speaking of Tyrese Gibson, although fun fact, the movie Baby Boy was released on July 1, 2001...happy 10 year anniversary...anyway, happy FIRST birthday to Sullivan! Sorry mommy is lying on the couch almost dead...but thanks for giving me the flu. I bought him a musical tool bench and all I got was this stinking virus...JK, sort of. Here are a few lil pictures of him in case y'all forgot what he looks like...UGH-eat him up. Just bundled up.This was that time we decided to ship him to Alaska...JK.Wha...how'd that get in there...I love these pictures!

Poor Kids

So both of my kids decided last night to start puking...a lot. And not just once every few hours. Every half hour. For a while, they were alternating every 15 minutes, so Tessa would get done, then as soon as we got it all cleaned up, Sullivan would go. It's terrible. But they both fell asleep, and I think I have about 20 minutes before one of them (or both of them) starts puking again...

Look at this poor kid...she has her bowl, her sprite, her water, her toast, and her towel...I can't even show how gross Sully looks.

Can You Believe It?!

Wow, it has been a while, right? I bet you were missing me. For some reason our pictures wouldn't update on blogger, so I didn't feel motivated to figure out what was wrong, so blogging was put on the back burner. Turns out I just had to turn off my computer...crazy technology, right? And since I thought everyone is wondering what's happened to me, I figured today was the day! So I figured I'd neglect the children for a bit and update! Sullivan has already pulled the gate that blocks our stairs down on him about 7 times this week, so I figure he's fine to roam the house. If he gets hurt, he'll learn, right? And Tessa isn't talking to me anyway. I won't let her watch Pretty Little Liars, so she's a bit upset. Bless her heart. Anyway, not much has gone on in the lives of us, except we have a new neice! Scarlett Jean is here, and I wish I had proof, but I don't. I didn't have my camera to take any cute pictures of her, but she's great. Just check out my sister's blog. It was also the Utah Art's Festival, which I also don't have any pictures of...I'm terrible at picture taking lately. But don't worry, it was fun. I just realized I don't really have a lot of things to talk about. SO...you guys know my baby? You know, Sullivan? Well, he's turning one on Friday. ONE. Who would've thunk it. And we totally didn't screw him up! And even though he's not one for 3 more days, I would like to officially give him a shout out, since I probably won't blog again for another month...JK. I know y'all can't live without me. But here are some super cute pictures of my baby.
This is Sullivan's new face. It's adorable. It really takes the focus off his ears.
Oh my gosh. He's so cute. Notice the spit on the side of his mouth.
Something hilarious obviously just happened.
Isn't he the cutest? I know, right. He is. And just so we don't let this little lady be forgotten...
She picked out a lot of her own outfit. Obviously, she had to pose.
And this was when she was waiting for Alex to finish her playset outside. She's pretending to help...like mother like daughter.

Myrtle Beach 2011

Let me just start out by saying this is quite a task to take on at 11:30 at night. I told Alex I needed to run on the treadmill, but instead I'm doing this. Silly Alex...JK. I already ran a whole mile, so I'm good for the week. Anyway, this year the Madsen family went back to Myrtle Beach aka Murder Beach aka Heaven. It did not disappoint. Last year I was 12 months pregnant, so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I could have. And I realize now that it is way better when you are only semi fat instead of super fat. And when you can fit shoes on your feet. I can't even sort through all the pictures we have, but I'm gonna try since I know most of you have been all, "I miss Chelsea-where has she been?" Travelin, that's where. So here you are...
There were many events that we got to experience this year-the first day we were there was Easter, so we decided to go to church.
Our little family in our Easter blacks. It's totally the new pastel. And yes, every person in my family commented on how unspringy we all looked. But there was an emergency-I look really good in black. And this was the cutest picture I could get of Sully's face...he's usually much more attractive. When we got to the church, we were informed that it had been Stake Conference. I don't have a copy of the picture of all of us overjoyed that we didn't have to actually sit through sacrament with all the kids. It's a good one though.

It was also the first time ever that Sully has swam. He absolutely loved it. He was amazing-he loved the pool, he loved the ocean, he loves baths-anything with water really.

See the joy?

Again with the faces.

He's so cute when he's in the nude. Most babies are. (I know he technically has on a swimsuit, but his upper portion is nude, so...)
Tessa also loved swimming and apparently knows how to now. Seriously, one day she couldn't swim, and now she can. And I didn't teach her, so I'm thinking it is because she's a genius. That's probably the only explanation. But of course I have no pictures to prove it.

Except for this-which was prior to her learning to swim. Sophie was going for a Sports Illustrated pose. She nailed it.
We also got to be there for my birthday. And of course Alex took pretty much no pictures of that. Apparently me aging is no big deal. We hung out with my family for the most part, but then we went to this cute little place called Broadway at the Boardwalk (I think?). It has a ton of restaurants and shops and movie theaters, so we went to eat and then walked around whilst being blown about by a hurricane.

Feeding the fish. I know you may think my hair naturally looks this amazing, but it doesn't. I hadn't washed it for three days and it was windy. That's my picture of the day I became 26 years old.
We spent most of our time by the pool/ocean, and the boys golfed twice, so if you want to see a million pictures of me in a swimsuit, then I could post them. But you'd be grossed out. Or amazed, on account of I was brave enough to wear a two piece. I'm still pissed no one told me I looked ridiculous.
Every family trip we take family pictures because it seems like there's always a new addition to our family what with all the love making that goes on. My mom always gives us matching PJs, so we take pictures in those, and then we take more dressed up pictures. I don't have any of the ones in the PJs, which is too bad, because they were dang cute. So here are the others...

My cute family. We made a book of pictures for my mom and dad to say thank you (and by we, I mean Cessy-the rest of us just provided some pictures) but on one of the pages she wrote "thank you for making pretty offspring, so we could marry pretty people and make pretty children, because these pictures would suck if they were of ugly people." All I can say to you readers is you're welcome for having an attractive family...jealous much?

Holy crap don't you love him? I do. Even if he's bald...

Classic Tessa. No one told her to pose, this just happened, just like it always does. At soccer the other day as Tessa was applying some lip gloss, someone asked who brought the beauty queen-that would be me.

I rarely say nice things about Alex, but I'm so glad he's not ugly. That would make this so awkward. And that's Sully's Magnum look.

My siblings and parents. Oldest to youngest-ish-Cam, Cole, mom and dad, Cecily (Scarlett), Me, Cailey. We nailed this picture.

This cute picture. It's cute. It was nice this year because Tessa didn't have to wear sunglasses in every picture. If you don't know what I mean, it's too long to explain. Last year she had to wear glasses all the time because she has some disease in her eyes. I guess it was a short story.

Best buddies. It'll be a shame the day we have to tell them that they are related and can't actually get married. Tessa will freak. He may be trying to strangle her...it was a long week.

My mom loves candid shots because they always turn out so cute. This one did!

Anyway, those are the pictures that I felt like uploading, but there are seriously about 500 more. It was such a fun trip and I love my family so much-they are pretty awesome. I'm sure you know.
The end.
