And The Oscar Goes To...

On Sunday my family had their annual Oscar party, and it definitely was the best party so far. Kudos to Cessy and Cailey-I just made confetti cake. They went all out with the decorations and everything. I wish I had gotten a picture of the table. It was a-dorable. We had food that was named after the nominees, like "Sean Penne Pasta with Cate Blan-cheddar cheese". Stuff of that sort. So cute. Mine was named "Cake Winslet."
Just a little taste of the decorations.
Anywhoodle, we went over to the parents house and made our predictions as to who the winners would be this year. So every year we have a competition between the family of who can guess the most correctly. Well, I never win. It's usually Coleman or Cecily, and occassionally my dad, if he's lucky. So this year I was determined. How determined you ask? Well, the night before I researched the crap out of it. I went to a bunch of different websites to see what they predicted, and then I guessed from there. Well, it paid off. I totally won.

Awesome picture. I won this DVD. It's Rain Man, the Best Picture Award winner for 1989. Researched it. And that's my ballot. You can't see it very well, but there are only 4 x's on it. Those are the only ones that I got wrong. BAM!

Then this year Cecily added another little competition. Between the commercials, she would ask different trivia questions. So it was neck and neck between Coleman and Cailey. Coleman ended up winning, but it got terrifying for a while. My dad won the MVP of the night though. He was awarded by giving him the Oscar pinata and letting him beat the crap out of it.

Action shots. It was full of snakes and candy.

Everyone that came. Except the other side of the room, for some reason the picture didn't turn out well. It was my parents and Cole and Ash and Sophie. Picture them in your heads.

It was a pretty awesome night.

Real fast, I forgot the other stuff that happened this week! Alex had a soccer game on Tuesday, and Tessa got into it. Lance had sent her a jersey from Chile for Christmas, so she finally got to wear it. She seriously loves going to the soccer games. Yes, I'm worried. I really want her to be a dancer or a figure skater. Or a realtor. But I think she's going to want to play soccer. My worst fear. JK, it's cool if she wants to do that. I'm a democrat.

Tessa and her jersey.

Also, this week we celebrated Trace's birthday. For those who don't know Trace, he's Alex's dad. He doesn't look a day over 40. We just had some dinner over at their house and then opened presents. It was fun.

Opening presents.

Then we took Tessa bowling for her first time. She loved it. They played a lot of Beyonce and Usher, so she was having a good time.

AND-I'm totally a Bikram Yogite. I've been converted. No pictures of that. Just imagine me dripping sweat and times it by a thousand. Got it?

Busy Week...for realsies.

Is that poop or chocolate? It's chocolate.

SO. There has been a lot of things. Seriously. So Sunday-actually last Sunday-we celebrated Rubie boobie's birthday. She's one. Here are some pictures below. We got her a cake. It was great. Then, Alex had to go down to Dixie Regional Hospital to do an audit for work, so Tessa and I went with him. Plus my mom was there, so it was double fun. Well, whilst we were there, my mom decided to buy my dad's Valentine's Day present. And what did she get? Oh, a Corvette. It. Was. Awesome. We were lucky enough to be there when she purchased it, so we got to drive it and everything. So hot.
So scary.
And Tessa loved it.
On the way home we let Tessa eat a fun dip that she got from her "Secret Admirer" (my mom). It dyed her finger green.
Then, for Valentine's Day-which is today-we celebrated by going to the City Weekly Music Awards featuring Ben Kweller. I love him. Who doesn't? Anyway, we went to eat at The Dodo before, which was fun. Except Alex yelled at me. No big deal.
Alex yelling at me. He loves it.

Then we headed on over to The Depot to listen to the bands. So, the opening bands were local-from Salt Lake City local-and then we voted to see who won the Best Band in SLC 2008. AND it was the Neon Trees. LOVED THEM. But not as much as BK. He power owned the show.
Powned it.

We were in love after he yelled at me. It's fine.

This is everyone but Devon. He took the picture. There's Beth, Ashlii, Coleman, Cailey, Ryan, Cessy, Zach, Me, and Alex. We are huge fans.

The best part about it was we saw Andy Martin, who was this guy that BK pulled up on stage at the last concert and he had him play the harmonica, which was awesome. So we saw Andy Martin, and we were talking to him after the show, when low and behold, Ben Kweller came walking in. Alex and Devon shook his hand, and he totally growled at them. Not a bad growl it was a "did you love my show? I felt great about it. I rock" growl. So adorable. It was so much fun!

Then this morning, Tessa and Alex got a visit from their secret admirers. It was me. There, I said it. Tessa was excited. She got a cute V-Day shirt, a book about a dog, and some Hannah Montana candy. Alex got a bag of treats and Love Actually. I didn't get anything, because I can't be my own secret admirere. Apparently that's seen as conceited. And Alex gave me an iPod Touch! BAM!!

Here is Tessa's book.

And candy.

So that's all. Enyoy. I know that I spelled it with a 'y'. So it's not a spell check mistake. I like to pronounce it like that.

Randomness

So I got tagged on facebook too, and then I noticed that Cailey did hers on her blog, so I was all, "me too!" And I never get on facebook, so I would rather share my randomness with blog followers. The funny thing about this is most people who know me probably know these random things already.
1: I have to, have to, have to brush my teeth before I do anything else in the day. I just feel bad when Alex has to kiss me with morning breath. And he tries...trust me. So I always make him wait until my teeth are brushed.

2: I make Alex brush his teeth before I'll kiss him. BAM! I'm that awesome of a wife. Just joshing, I let it slide most of the time. NO, I don't actually. I don't even care.

3: When I get a bottled drink, I have to be the one to open it and take the first sip. It drives me nuts if Alex/Tessa/strangers drink it before me.

4: I love Diet Coke. I bet you're thinking, 'duh, we already knew that.' But wait, there's more. If I have the option, I'd rather drink it from a 20 oz than from a can. BUT, if it's from the fountain, I choose Coke.

5: If we're driving in the car and a song comes on, it drives me crazy if someone starts singing before they're supposed to. I usually will start it over.

6: I just realized that some of my randomness makes me sound mean. Oh well.

7: I watch way too much tv. Ask me anything about any show that was ever on. I know it.

8: I have an insanely huge knowledge of X-Men. I don't even know where it came from, but I can tell you anything about them. Their real names, their powers. Anything.

9: I sometimes like being sick. I like that Alex will do anything and everything for me. I'd do the same for him, don't worry!

10: I would rather hang out with my family than anyone else. Ever. (not including Alex and Tessa. They're my number ones.)

11: I love/slash hate dinosaurs. Refer to previous posts.

12: I wish I had curly hair. I think I'd look good. My sisters both have a little curl in their hair, and I'm jealous.

13: I feel like I need to say this. I love hanging out with my family. But, for those who don't know, Alex LOVES his friends. Which he should, but secretly, I love them too-I like hanging out with them. Don't tell them though, I'd never live it down.

14: I'd rather get take out then eat at a restaurant. When we were little we used to do picnics in our family room, and my mom would lay out a huge blanket and we'd eat dinner there. It was the best. So I hope to do that with my family, because it's one of the best memories I have of my family. Oh, precious.

15: I'm a really picky eater (for the most part). But I love to eat.

16: I hate going out of town with a messy house. If we're going somewhere, I have to make sure my house is clean from top to bottom. Thanks Mom.

17: I hate when little kids try to do my hair. I know I sound horrible. But I don't want them to pretend to style it. It hurts. This is something I've had to work on with Tessa, because she likes to fix my hair. It's really nice when my sisters are around, because she likes fixing their hair more since their's is longer than mine.

18: I was almost on American Idol. I say almost because I never actually tried out-I didn't have any support-but I would totally have made it if I had gone to the auditions.

19: Next year I'll be on American Idol. Just a prediction.

20: I love Martin Lawrence. My family knows this, but I think that they think I'm joking. I'm not. Has anyone seen Blue Streak? Classic.

21: I'm stealing this from Cailey-I always try to work Office/30 Rock quotes into my everyday conversations. Sometimes I'll just quote it, even when no one is talking.

22: I love horror movies. If I have my choice between a romantic comedy or a horror movie, I go with horror. Alex hates this about me. I think it makes him feel weird that my ideal date would be dinner (at home) and then whatever scary movie is in the theater at the time. Nothing says romance like bloodiness, am I right or am I right?

23: I hate the smell of girly lotions. Bath and Body Works is one of my hells. If someone around me puts on lotion or body spray that smells anything like flowers or grass, it makes me nauseous. Sorry.

24: I'm actually a pretty good cook. Alex always makes dinner at our house, but it's not because I can't cook. I just don't. But I'll make a kick A dinner for you sometime. Just ask. I thank my mom on this one again.

25: I don't like sno cones or slurpies. There. I said it.

Welp. That's it.
